Are you looking for new challenges and opportunities this year? As the coronavirus pandemic continues to grip the world, science writing has never been more important. Writers producing incisive, informative coverage are transforming the way people view the media. The Association of British Science Writers is committed to enabling and enhancing this shift – and would like you to volunteer to help to do so.

Volunteering your time to help run the ABSW can help raise your profile, make connections, and gain experience. Or if you are already established and experienced, why not volunteer your time to make a difference? For example, the ABSW can realise the training that people need. We can support and/or drive campaigns for change in our industry and beyond. Also, many experienced members already act as mentors in our mentoring scheme, and we are still looking for more.

Interested? Email us at [email protected] and tell us:

  • how much time you have to spare
  • what your skills are - a CV might help with this, but is not essential, and it would still be useful if you highlight the skills you think would be most useful even if you do send one through
  • what you might like to get involved with
  • any ideas for new activities that you might like the ABSW to do

We look forward to working with you!
