The Association of British Science Writers highly values its links with student journalists, including sponsoring SPA awards for science coverage. We are looking to further our activities in this area and as such would like to co-opt a voluntary student representative to our board.

The ideal candidate would need to be highly self-motivated and creative, and able to prove this. We'd like you to attend our board meetings, which happen roughly every six weeks, with online participation possible, and hope that you have the self-confidence to offer a student perspective on our broader activities. Between board meetings there will be opportunities to organise and contribute to other activities, including events this year to celebrate the ABSW's 75th anniversary. Every other year we run a summer school aimed at people just entering or returning to the profession, including students. The student representative would have a prominent role in contributing to that event.

If you're interested email Matt Warren with your CV and why you should be our student rep by the end of May 2022!
