Meet the panellists:


Subhra Priyadarshini

Subhra Priyadarshini is the Editor in Chief of Nature India

She is a 2022 fellow of the JournalismAI Academy for Small Newsrooms at the London School of Economics and Political Science. 

Subhra is currently experimenting with AI-augmented research highlights, and auto-translation of science news content to Hindi.


Charlie Beckett

Charlie Beckett is a professor in the Department of Media and Communications at the London School of Economics. He is the founding director of Polis, the LSE's international journalism think-tank.

Professor Beckett is currently leading the Polis Journalism and AI project. He was director of the LSE’s Truth, Trust and Technology Commission that reported on the misinformation crisis in 2018. 

He was an award-winning filmmaker and editor at LWT, BBC and ITN.

Matthew Cobb

Professor Matthew Cobb is in the School of Biological Sciences at the University of Manchester, where he studies the sense of smell in maggots and Neanderthals and also works on the history of science. 

He has written a number of popular science books (most recently THE GENETIC AGE and THE IDEA OF THE BRAIN) and has written for newspapers (The Guardian, LA Times...) and magazines (TLS, BBC History…) as well as scripting and presenting programmes on Radio 4.
