Manchester meet up at Science Festival
ABSW members based in Machester or elsewhere can meet on Saturday, October 19, at the Machester Science Festival and enjoy a fun quiz and networking.
The Manchester Science Festival is happening in October - Friday 18 to Sunday 27 - and it sounded like a great chance for people to meet up, whether you are based in Manchester and nearby or, if you live elsewhere, but would like to meet other ABSW fellows there.
ABSW member Edwin Colyer, Manchester's regional representative, will be your host for the meeting on October 19. We invite you to join the Cosmic Quiz and move to a nearby pub after the event.
You can compete on your own, or in a team of up to 4. Please note that the quiz is played using your mobile phone. Take a fully charged device and/or fully charged portable charger. Ensure your smartphone can connect to your data (the museum is well-served with 4G/5G coverage). WiFi access is available if required.
Book your place by Friday, October 4, until 17.00.

- 18.00 - Meet at the New Warehouse (main entrance)
Science and Industry Museum, Liverpool Road, Manchester, M3 4FP
(How to get there?) - 18.30 - Doors open
- 18.30–20.00 - Visit the Revolution Manchester Gallery and Experiment, a hands-on interactive gallery
OR - 18.30–20.00 - Just relax and have a chat at the Pop-up bar
- 20.00 - Quiz starts
- 22.00 - Adjourn to a nearby pub

The pop-up bar will be selling wines, beers and non-alcoholic drinks, plus, Festival exclusive cocktails and mocktails created by AI technology.
You can pre-order your AI drink and then choose a Galaxy Swizzle or Saturn Sparkler on the night.

Pre-order will close at 11.00 on Saturday 19 October.
