Free and exclusive to ABSW members

Where: Book Writers' Coffee Shop on Discord (see how to join here)

When: First Wednesday every other month, 13:30–14:30 (UK)

Whether you’ve just started thinking about writing a book or are already deep into a manuscript, the Book Writers’ Coffee Break is a relaxed space for ABSW members to talk about the joys and challenges of book writing.

Grab a coffee and join fellow science writers, journalists, communicators, and scientists to exchange thoughts, experiences, and questions about the writing process. There’s no set agenda — just an open conversation among peers.

Share your own dos and don’ts — challenges are common, and advice is always welcome. How do you pick the right topic, stay motivated and organised, or deal with it if someone publishes a similar book first? What should you know before signing with a publisher, and what can you expect afterwards?

There are just two simple rules: be friendly and non-judgmental, and remember — what’s shared in the chat stays in the chat. This is a safe, supportive space to share experiences and advice.

Free, members-only event. No booking required — just drop in!
