Job description

This is a unique opportunity to drive coverage on the policy choices happening in Brussels as the EU grapples with the future of artificial intelligence, seeks to rein in powerful platforms and resets its relationship with Washington and Beijing.

The role is a busy, hands-on editing job running coverage across subscription products and bringing stories to life for POLITICO’s consumer audience with imagination and curiosity.

You’ll supervise a talented team of reporters and editors and collaborate across the newsroom to produce high-impact journalism across all platforms.

POLITICO is dedicated to providing non-partisan, distinctive journalism to policy and political professionals — delivering impactful and exclusive information at the right time to allow readers and subscribers to act with confidence and speed.

What You’ll Do:

  • Drive a coverage agenda across technology and artificial intelligence
  • Assign and edit stories that break news and take readers inside the conversations in Brussels
  • Work with colleagues to guide this coverage across POLITICO’s platforms: our premium subscriber services, our must-read newsletters and Politico.eu
  • Edit a daily newsletter for subscribers
  • Manage a team of policy journalists and editors
  • Work across POLITICO’s teams to brainstorm events, ideas and new approaches to the coverage

What You'll Need:

  • A track record of breaking news and driving a coverage agenda
  • Experience managing and coaching reporters, superior organisational skills and a track record of strong line editing
  • Demonstrable interest in technology, artificial intelligence and cybersecurity
  • Confidence digging into policy coverage in depth and working at speed
  • A rigorous commitment to fair-minded, nonpartisan journalism

We value our people:

  • Our benefits package is built for you, and includes:
  • Our teams benefit from country-specific, competitive compensation and benefits packages—including pension, healthcare, training opportunities and more.
  • With a multinational team, strong ties to EU institutions, and flexible work options including working from abroad, we offer our employees an environment that supports both professional and personal development.
