Nature, the international publication for research scientists, needs a Chief Magazine Editor.

The successful applicant will manage an international team of highly creative and award-winning editors, reporters, and artists responsible for Nature's daily and weekly outputs of journalism and opinion. Nature's magazine includes all its non-peer reviewed content, such as news, features, commentary, news and views, and careers.

Reporting to the Editor-in-Chief of Nature, he/she will take the lead in delivering high-impact coverage of developments in the world of science, including research, policy and the scientific community, for a global readership. The Chief Magazine Editor, will take responsibility for the online presentation of the magazine content and will play a key role in the strategic development of the magazine on digital platforms.

The successful applicant will have a record of editorial leadership and experience of managing high achieving individuals. Candidates should have newspaper or magazine experience, preferably in science journalism. A good understanding of the online and digital side of publishing is also important.
