So you
want to be a science writer?

Now in its third edition, this handbook continues to grow.
So the latest edition isn't available on the web site as a set of pages.
(You can read an earlier version on line
here.) The text now
includes some of the material that does appear here, the list of courses,
for example. For the latest version,
download the
full text of the document as an Acrobat/PDF file (about 440 kB).
The gradual evolution of the document means that it isn't all that easy
to tell who wrote what. One person whose original words continue to
influence the project is the late Anthony (Phil) Tucker, a former science
editor of The Guardian.
Editorial responsibility of the latest issue, launched in March 2002 and
made possible by the generous sponsorship of AstraZeneca, was in the hands
of Natasha Loder, Science and Technology Correspondent at The
Economist, and Pete Wrobel, who does important things at Nature. |
